Matanzas es la segunda provincia más grande de Cuba y es en gran parte plana, extendiéndose desde el norte hasta las costas del sur de la isla. Ubicada al este de La Habana, la provincia alberga la ciudad de Matanzas, claramente cultural e histórica, construida entre tres ríos principales y situada en la gran Bahía de Matanzas.
