MATANZAS
Matanzas es la segunda provincia más grande de Cuba y es en gran parte plana, extendiéndose desde el norte hasta las costas del sur de la isla. Ubicada al este de La Habana, la provincia alberga la ciudad de Matanzas, claramente cultural e histórica, construida entre tres ríos principales y situada en la gran Bahía de Matanzas. Si lo que le atrae es la arena blanca y el agua cristalina, el balneario de Varadero se encuentra a poca distancia en automóvil de la ciudad a la península de Hicacos. Viajando tierra adentro hacia la costa sur de Cuba, se encuentra una de las características más distintivas de Cuba, los grandes pantanos de la Ciénega de Zapata, hogar de la Bahía de Cochinos.
